Christmas Cookies

I'm trying to catch up what we did this Christmas season so it is not in any order but I want to have it on here so that he have a record of it. So I hope you don't mind me going back to the first part of December and catching up a little bit.
One thing I love about Christmas is cookies. We always seem to run out of time for making cookies. So this year I made sure that we made them on the first Sunday of December. I love pulling out the cookie cutters and making a huge mess and letting the kids have a wonderful time creating cute little snowmen, and gingerbread men. They love to cut out the cookies and decorate them. They are always so proud of what they have done. It makes all the work worth it. Jared of course thinks that sugar cookies are not true cookies so he made some kiss cookies, some mint truffle cookies, and some pretzel cookies to go along with the sugar cookies. Our house sure smelled good. I wish I had gotten a picture of some of the other cookies but I didn't.

Jared's mom passed away on Monday. We miss her already. Love you mom! Sara Jennet Meldrum Sara Jennet Meldrum, age 71, passed away peacefully on December 14th, 2009, surrounded by her family. Jennet was born January 6, 1938, in Ogden, Utah, to Shand S. and Elva W. Cunningham. She was the youngest of four siblings, Lorraine Nichols (Malcom), Stanley (Jane), and Rex. She graduated from Davis High School, where she met her sweetheart, David Gurr Meldrum. On October 26, 1956, she and David were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Married at the age of 18, David and Jennet raised each other while raising their six children, Kevin (Cathy), Mark (Debbie), Shawn (Teresa), Julie Simmons (Jason), Jared (Cindy), and Matthew (Nicole). They traveled to many parts of the world with their young family before settling in Kaysville, Utah. Happy Birthday Preston!

Preston turned 12 years old on the 29th. I can't believe it! Where does the time go? I know I always say this but my little boy can't be going into junior high school. If you know Preston you know that he is a great kid. He loves telling jokes and is really good at it. He has the best laugh. It always puts a smile on my face. He is always willing to help us out when we need it. He has kept himself busy this last year by spending time with his friends, swimming on the swim team, scouting and of course at this age he loves his video games. He loves kicking back with Jared and playing World of Warcraft. Preston we love you! Happy Birthday!
