4th of July 2017

We had a great 4th of July. Madison is marching with the Davis High Band and Morgan took classes for about two weeks to learn how to march with the flags. She loved every minute of it.(The parade with Morgan doing flags was the week after the 4th) We went to the parade and then spent time at Julie and Jason's house for family fun and of course delicious food. We watched fireworks at the elementary school. It was the perfect spot to see them. Jared wasn't feeling really well for the holiday. We missed him joining in the fun.

Today was the first day of school. The summer went so fast. I'm excited for the kids to have another great school year. Brook 9th grade Preston 7th grade(to cool to smile for a picture) Madison 4th grade London 2nd grade Giving Carson a kiss goodbye. He will miss having them home to play with.

Jared's mom passed away on Monday. We miss her already. Love you mom! Sara Jennet Meldrum Sara Jennet Meldrum, age 71, passed away peacefully on December 14th, 2009, surrounded by her family. Jennet was born January 6, 1938, in Ogden, Utah, to Shand S. and Elva W. Cunningham. She was the youngest of four siblings, Lorraine Nichols (Malcom), Stanley (Jane), and Rex. She graduated from Davis High School, where she met her sweetheart, David Gurr Meldrum. On October 26, 1956, she and David were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Married at the age of 18, David and Jennet raised each other while raising their six children, Kevin (Cathy), Mark (Debbie), Shawn (Teresa), Julie Simmons (Jason), Jared (Cindy), and Matthew (Nicole). They traveled to many parts of the world with their young family before settling in Kaysville, Utah. Preston turned 12 years old on the 29th. I can't believe it! Where does the time go? I know I always say this but my little boy can't be going into junior high school. If you know Preston you know that he is a great kid. He loves telling jokes and is really good at it. He has the best laugh. It always puts a smile on my face. He is always willing to help us out when we need it. He has kept himself busy this last year by spending time with his friends, swimming on the swim team, scouting and of course at this age he loves his video games. He loves kicking back with Jared and playing World of Warcraft. Preston we love you! Happy Birthday!
